steps for a career in the army?

i know everyone starts off with basic training and then advanced individual but do you go right from basic to ait? and then after ait what happens next? basically im wondering what are all the steps in your career in the army..if theres a site about this please let me know also if i helps i want to be a military police thanks

  1. OK, this is the way it works. 1. Boot Camp 2. AIT 3. First duty assignment. It is pretty straight forward. If I may make a suggestion, do not go MP. If you want a career after you get out(unless a patrol officer is what you shoot for) you should go CID. Even better, if you want an even better job when you get out of the military, join the Air Force as a Security Forces(SF) member. If you go into SF, you have a very good chance to get into the Office of Special Investigations(OSI). By getting selected for OSI, you will attend the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center(FLETC). Once you have graduated that training, you are qualified to have any law enforcement job. I hope this helps you.
